Hot Resource – Kara Bligh Gives You a Quick Morning Warm Up Routine

Hi There!

My name is Kara Bligh and I am writing this from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. I am so thrilled to be a part of Bernie’s brilliant blog! Bernie has so much to offer the world and I am grateful to be a resource to her readers as she is to me.

To tell you a little bit about myself, let me start with my various titles; wife, busy mom, Pilates Instructor, Fitness Director, cooking show lover and Pinterest addict are just a few. I love to read, I love to cook and entertain and I love to dance (when no one is really watching!).

But what I am here to tell you about today holds the title of Creator of Kara Bligh Pilates; my online Pilates business! I offer Pilates instruction, fitness coaching, mindset training and motivation on my website. karablighpilates.com

I run online fitness challenges and currently have a monthly membership group of 20 women and growing strong (yay!). I didn’t really plan on all of this, it kind of evolved. Let me tell you how.

It all started after I had my son Jack. While I was home on maternity leave, I learned a lot of things. Not only about taking care of a newborn, but how easy it can be to forget to take care of myself. My time was no longer my own and my ways of working out, cooking and eating were not fitting in. My “me-time” was extremely limited.

As thrilled as I was to be a new mom, I soon realized that quote, “You can’t fully take care of others if you don’t first take care of yourself” was really true. I was grumpy, felt frumpy and heavy, wasn’t present and had created bad eating habits.

I was in a bad way.

I needed to simplify things and create some habits that would fit in to my new life. I learned that trying to motivate myself with SHOULDS didn’t work. I should workout, I should eat better, I should get started….

Sound familiar?

I stopped thinking about what I should do and started thinking about what I wanted to do. How did I want to feel? How did I want to move each day? What foods did my body want?

I shifted my thinking and everything changed!

I started squeezing in a few Pilates exercises most days. And it was at this time that I was able to fully appreciate the beauty of the Pilates exercises. It finally hit me- it was the quality of the exercises when done consistently that mattered.

I didn’t need to spend a ton of time or money or need any equipment to get some great results!!

I knew I needed to share this! I have worked with so many women who are excited to create a healthier lifestyle for themselves only to revert back to old behavior after a short time. They felt stuck and were not making any progress. It’s so frustrating, I’ve been there too.

I have learned that in order to get the best results, a lot of the work has to be done on the inside (of your head). That’s why I say in my program, we “work out” and we “work in”!

Until you figure out your true self and how you operate, you will constantly be stuck trying to do “what worked for your friend ” or “the newest trend” to get in shape. Once you do figure this out, you will be amazed at how simple it really is to get and stay healthy and happy. And you’ll come to realize how hard we make it.

We overthink, we make excuses, we listen to the negative limiting stories in our heads, we compare. No wonder it’s so hard to stick with!

Please hear me when I say this, none of that serves you!!!!

Phew! I had to get that out! Moving on, the programs I run are designed to be time efficient and easy to fit in to your life. The strategies and habits we utilize are stress-free and simple.

I truly believe that baby steps when done consistently offer big results.

Here’s 2 short Pilates videos for You. The first one is a great Morning Warm Up; I created this for busy women like you. It’s a great way to wake up, stretch and energize your body in the morning (it doubles as a great way to wind down after a long day too).

In the second video I teach you the 5 best beginner Pilates exercises. It’s a good one, my bestie is in it with me!

My monthly group is called Eat, Pray, Pilates and is an ongoing program. Each month the group receives 2 Pilates workout videos, bonus workouts, a mindset topic with exercises, unlimited access to me for coaching and (the best part), membership to an awesome, Pilates lovin’ online community!
